EU orders more Galileo satellites to ensure start in 2014

The European Commission has tasked a German-UK consortium to provide eight more satellites for its flagship space project Galileo, a European version of the American GPS system set to launch in 2014. Contracts were also signed for future Galileo satellites to launch on Europe's Ariane 5 rocket.
