Japan pledges €47.8 billion to IMF

Japan said Tuesday €47.8 billion it would boost the IMF's funds to help contain the eurozone debt crisis. Japan is the first non-European country to make such a concrete promise. Japan's Finance Minister Jun Azumi said the contribution will be formally announced at a G20 meeting later this week.

EU Modernisation Fund: an open door for fossil gas in Romania
