AdsBrief - 2008 sees new readership highs

EUobserver numbers continue to grow

The past couple of months have seen a continued rise in EUobserver's numbers with our average readership reaching up to 1,000,000 a month. Our highest daily readership in the past month was reached on 15 January with 36,013 unique readers.

An additional 32,945 readers subscribe to our newsletter service. Newsletters go out once a day, twice a day and weekly.

A total of 736,400 articles were read in the month of December and 799,376 in January.

Our core readers: EU officials, Academics and Media

EUobserver's readership has a strong core of EU and government officials, other media, lobby groups, academics and students.

EUobserver is the largest online newspaper on EU affairs and brings together a community of more than 30,000 unique readers on average every day from all over the world.

Apart from a core readership of EU officials (11%) and national government officials (12%) a substantial amount of EUobserver readers are from other media (10% or in other words an estimated 2,500 journalists a day) and academics (14%).
