The European Commission has proposed new and tighter rules on the use of pesticides to limit harmful effects on people and the environment across the bloc. But environmental groups say the move is far from good enough.
"We want to ensure that citizens today and in the future do not have their health endangered by the use of pesticides, and can benefit from a safe, clean and rich environment," said environment commissioner Stavros Dimas in a statement on Wednesday (12 July).
