Austrian chancellor Wolfgang Schussel has noted he is "optimistic" about the economic ambitions the EU leaders will sign up to in the conclusion of this week’s summit.
"Everybody is interested to deliver on growth and jobs," he said following a meeting in Brussels with social partners – trade unions and employers, both from the big industry and small businesses.
The so called "social tripartite" was held on Thursday morning (23 March) before the formal opening of the EU summit.
