EU: Syria chemical threat 'very real'

EU foreign afairs chief Ashton has said "recent events have shown, the threat of chemical weapons is still very real" in reference to Syria's chemical arsenal on the 15th anniversary of a non-proliferation treaty. The US has previously indicated that chemical warfare could prompt outside intervention in the conflict.
