Greek coalition in dispute over cutting 50,000 jobs

Greek politicians in the centre-left Pasok and Democratic Left parties oppose plans to cut 50,000 public sector jobs in a bid to reduce state expenditure by an extra €11.5bn, reports the Guardian. Centre-right prime minister Antonis Samaras is under pressure from Brussels to impose the cuts.
