ECB bond-buying is Faustian pact, says Bundesbank chief

Bundesbank President Jens Wiedmann has launched fresh attacks on the ECB’s bond-buying programme, comparing it to Goethe’s Faust, where the devil tells the emperor to print money. The remarks show Wiedmann's refusal to tone down criticism of the Frankfurt-based bank. This year is the 180th anniversary of Goethe's death.
