Magnitsky case: EU banks used to launder Russian mafia money

Hermitage Capital, the UK-based firm which employed Russian accountant Sergei Magnitsky, has asked prosecutors in six EU countries - Austria, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Latvia and Lithuania - to freeze bank accounts allegedly used to launder stolen Russian tax money. Magnitsky exposed the scam in 2008 but was murdered in jail.
