Conservative leads in Cypriot elections

Conservative Nicos Anastasiades will face leftwing independent candidate Stavros Malas in a runoff after failing to secure enough support in the first round of Cypriot presidential elections Sunday. Anastasiades won 45.4% of the vote, Malas won 26.91% while independent candidate, Giorgos Lallikas, was a close third with 24.93%.
