Parliament chief signals EU budget battle

EU parliament chief Martin Schulz has attacked member states' decision to cut EU spending in 2014 to 2020 in a sign MEPs might vote down the deal. "The proposal does not provide the EU with a budget fit for a globalised world," he said in an FT op-ed on Monday.
