Italy election impasse threatens credit rating

Credit rating agency Moody's on Tuesday said Italy's hung parliament could prompt a downgrade of its credit rating, reports Bloomberg. Stocks and bonds on Tuesday fell sharply following an election deadlock among the political parties. The agency said reforms initiated under Mario Monti risk "a complete standstill."
