German Green wants Cyprus aid tied to island reunification

The leader of Germany's Green party, Cem Oezdemir, who is of Turkish origin, says Europe should make a bailout for Cyprus conditional on reviving talks about reunification of the island divided since 1974, Reuters reports. The Berlin government responded sceptically, saying it "would introduce a political element into the talks."
