EU Ombudsman to retire

The European Ombudsman, Nikiforos Diamandouros, announced on Thursday he will retire after ten years of service. “The time has come for me to look beyond my public life at the European Union level," he said in a statement. Diamandouros was born on 25 June 1942 in Athens, Greece.
