Cuba dissidents to pick up EU award 8 years late

Members of Cuba's Ladies in White opposition group will finally pick up the Sakharov Prize from 2005 in person at a ceremony to be held on 23 April at the European Parliament in Brussels, the daughter of the group's former leader said Wednesday.

EU Modernisation Fund: an open door for fossil gas in Romania

Among the largest sources of financing for energy transition of central and eastern European countries, the €60bn Modernisation Fund remains far from the public eye. And perhaps that's one reason it is often used for financing fossil gas projects.
