EU lifts Burma sanctions, keeps arms ban

EU ministers have permanently lifted trade sanctions and regime blacklists on Burma in recognition of pro-democratic change. Rights groups say the move is premature due to ongoing abuses. They note the ex-junta has entrenched power by taking control of business interests. An EU arms embargo is to stay in place.
