Kroes drops plans for 90 percent roaming cuts

EU commissioner Neelie Kroes has abandoned plans to slash roaming costs, Reuters reports. Kroes proposals had previously included a 3 cents-per-minute cap for calls from July 2014, a 70 percent reduction from the 10 cent cap which came into effect in July. Phone companies had voiced opposition to the cuts.
