MEPs back women quotas bill
By EUobserver
The EU parliament has backed a proposal for publicly listed firms to have at least 40% women among the non-executive members of their boards. The bill passed by 459 votes against 148. Its author, EU commissioner Reding, called it "a historic moment," but EU countries could still block the law.
