French government orders end to farmers' road blockade

The French government has called on farmers to bring an “immediate" end to road blockades after two accidents killed a fireman and left six police officers injured. Cereal farmers have led the blockades in protest at reforms to the EU's agricultural policy, which will reduce subsidies, agreed earlier this week.
