Former Romanian prime minister jailed for taking bribes

Romania's supreme court Monday sentenced former social democrat premier Adrian Nastase to four years in prison for receiving building materials and furnishings worth €630,000 from a Chinese entrepreneur whom he later appointed head of the State Construction Inspectorate. Nastase has already served two-thirds of a previous two-year sentence for corruption.
