Irish farmers threaten to burn fields if EU subsidies cut

A number of farmers in Ireland have threatened to set their fields ablaze if EU agricultural subsidies are cut on land set aside for wildlife habitats, reported Ireland's Independent on Sunday. Ireland's department of agriculture says 25,000 Irish farmers are receiving EU subsidies they are not entitled to.
