Van Rompuy: 'Banking secrecy is set to die'

Council chief Herman Van Rompuy said in Brussels on Thursday that “banking secrecy is set to die” after Austria and Luxembourg dropped their veto on exchange of bank data on potential tax cheats between EU countries. European Commission head Jose Manuel Barroso noted the deal took six years to finalise.
