French PM resigns over elections result

French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault resigned on Monday, following the poor results of his ruling Socialist party in Sunday's local elections. Interior minister Manuel Valls is tipped as his successor, a move set to be announced later Monday evening during a speech by President Francois Hollande, according to French media.
