EU cancels Egypt election mission

The European Union said Saturday it would not send observers to Egypt for the country's May 26-27 presidential election, AFP reports. In a statement, a spokesman said that it had been impossible to get the telecommunication equipment and medical kits needed to ensure the security and safety of observers.
