Cyprus hosts first-ever gay Pride

Cyprus, one of the EU's more conservative countries, held its first-ever gay Pride march on Saturday. Reuters reports that 3,500 people attended the event. The day was mostly peaceful, barring minor clashes between an anti-gay group and police. Orthodox clerics also joined a small, but noisy, anti-Pride protest near parliament.
