European Ombudsman to be elected in January

The next European Ombudsman will be elected by secret ballot in January 2015, president of the European Parliament Martin Schulz announced at the opening of the September plenary session on Monday in Strasbourg. The current European Ombudsman, Emily O'Reilly, was elected in July 2013 and is eligible for reappointment.
