Jail time teaches new EU commissioner justice lesson

The EU's incoming commissioner for justice Vera Jourova told MEPs on Wednesday that her time in a prison cell eight years ago convinced her to fight injustice. "I couldn't believe it was possible to put somebody in prison without evidence," she said. Jourova was later cleared of the corruption charges.
