At the same time as the members of the Convention were celebrating the final version of the draft constitution, a public press conference was being held outside the European Parliament in order to promote the idea of giving people a right to vote on the new blueprint.
"It is a document for the people", said Michael Efler from the European Referendum Campaign. A huge majority of the Convention supported the idea of having a referendum in each country, he added.
