Solana urges full Palestinian statehood

Javier Solana, the European Union foreign policy chief, has called on the new Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas to turn the Palestinian Authority (PA) "from a pre-state to a state", according to the Financial Times.

The process involves improving the PA's chaotic security system, its finances and its administration, the paper reported.
