Member states face Commission legal action on euro rules

The European Commission will decide next week whether to initiate legal action against EU member states over the euro rules.

According to a legal opinion unveiled today by Commission lawyers, EU finance ministers acted illegally when they voted to prevent disciplinary measures being taken against France and Germany last November.
