US seeks data deal by year's end

The US government has said that it expects to see an agreement with the EU on the controversial transfer of passenger data, by the end of this year.

Speaking to journalists in Brussels yesterday (23 September), the US Homeland Security undersecretary, Asa Hutchinson acknowledged that European concerns on the transfer of sensitive passenger data, from airlines to the US authorities were "legitimately expressed".
