ECB keeps interest rate at 0.75 percent

The European Central Bank on Thursday decided to keep its key interest rate at 0.75%, its chief Mario Draghi said in a press conference. He said inflation will remain above 2% until the end of the year, but will be "transitory" and may decrease next year.


EU praises Turkey on migrant deal despite Greek misery

The EU-Turkey deal was agreed two years ago in Brussels. Focus has largely been on reducing migrant flows across the Mediterranean and helping Syrian refugees in Turkey, while the plight of those on the Greek islands are ignored.

US yet to push on Nord Stream 2 sanctions

Washington would still like to block a planned gas pipeline between Russia and Germany but is not yet considering hitting companies involved in the project.
