Portugal to receive IMF bailout tranche

The International Monetary Fund said Wednesday it will release €838 million in aid to Portugal, reports Le Figaro. The bailout tranche is part of a larger €78 billion bailout package agreed in May 2011. Portugal has so far received €22.16 billion of the total package.

EU Modernisation Fund: an open door for fossil gas in Romania

Among the largest sources of financing for energy transition of central and eastern European countries, the €60bn Modernisation Fund remains far from the public eye. And perhaps that's one reason it is often used for financing fossil gas projects.
