Up to Cyprus to decide on financial transactions tax, says Germany

"Germany is advocating with every occasion for a financial transactions tax, but taxation is a national matter. It's up to Cyprus to decide on it," a spokesman for the German finance ministry said Monday. The Social Democratic opposition has linked its approval of a bailout to Cyprus introducing the tax.
