Human rights watchdog criticises negative media portrayal of Roma

The Council of Europe's top human rights commissioner, Nils Muiznieks says negative media reporting on Roma feeds into "age-old myths portraying Roma as child-abductors," reports the Irish Times. He said negative coverage of the alleged abduction of a child by a Roma couple only fuels violence against the discriminated minority.
