US official gives cookies to pro-EU protesters

A senior US state department official, Victoria Nuland, handed out cookies to pro-EU protesters in central Kiev on Wednesday after meeting Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych. She said their conversation was "tough" and "realistic." EU foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton is holding a second meeting with him in Kiev also Wednesday.
