Israel and EU trade complaints on settlements

Israel has summoned the British, French, Italian and Spanish ambassadors to Israel to hear complaints about EU "hypocrisy" on settlements. Its move comes after the four states summoned the Israeli ambassadors to criticise them for announcing 1,400 new settler homes while in the middle of pace talks with Palestine.

EU Modernisation Fund: an open door for fossil gas in Romania

Italian central banker Piero Cipollone in his first monetary policy speech since joining the ECB's board in November, said that the bank should be ready to "swiftly dial back our restrictive monetary policy stance."
