EU urges Israel to reconsider new settlements

European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton has urged the Israeli authorities to reconsider plans to build 558 new homes in East Jerusalem. "These plans could put at risk the prospects of Jerusalem becoming the capital of two states,’’ she said in a statement.
