Ministers agree deal to guarantee bank savings

EU finance ministers have reached agreement with MEPs on rules guaranteeing the first €100,000 of people's savings. Speaking on Tuesday, the Greek EU presidency said that the deal, which applies per person per bank, provided "another essential instrument for strengthening financial stability and consumer confidence" in the banking sector.
