EU proposes new rules on organic food

The European Commission on Tuesday proposed new rules on organic production and the labelling of organic products. "The Commission is looking for more and better organic farming in the EU," said EU commissioner for agriculture Dacian Ciolos. The proposal aims to make organic farming adhere "to its principles and objectives".

EU set to probe Ikea tax affairs

Swedish founded furniture retailer Ikea has reportedly been targeted by the European Commission, which is set to launch an investigation into how tax schemes in the Netherlands allegedly enabled it to avoid paying into public coffers.
