Increase in Romanians and Bulgarians working in UK

Some 30,000 more Romanians and Bulgarians are working in Britain compared with a year ago, according to official figures, the Guardian reports. The newspaper notes that the bulk of the increase happened before 1 January, when labour restrictions were lifted. Overall, 1.5 million foreign nationals are working in Britain.
