UK's liberal leader refuses to quit after EP wipeout

Britain's deputy prime minister Nick Clegg has refused to step down as leader of the Liberal Democrats after the party lost 11 of its 12 MEPs on Sunday. Clegg said he was "gutted" at the wipeout. The pro-EU junior government partner also lost hundreds of local government seats.
