Faroe Islands reach deal with EU to lift herring ban

The European Commission said on Wednesday it had agreed with the Faroe Islands to end a dispute on Atlanto-Scandian herring and lift the ban on Faroese herring imports in place since August 2013 due to alleged over-fishing. Both sides will now finalise details of the political deal.
