EU financial crisis commissioner steps down

EU commission chief Barroso said Wednesday Rehn, the Finnish economic affairs commissioner who led Brussels' response to the financial crisis but who is now an MEP, has been replaced by Finnish ex-PM Katainen. With more EU commissioners also leaving, a spokeswoman said the executive can legally function despite the gaps.
