Pro-Russia rebels free OSCE monitors on eve of EU deadline

Pro-Russia rebels in Ukraine have freed eight OSCE monitors held since May on the eve of an EU sanctions deadline. They continue to hold "more than 100 other hostages" according to the US' OSCE envoy Daniel Baer. They also killed five Ukrainian soldiers despite Ukraine's extension of a unilateral ceasefire.
