Dalli seeks €1.9mn in damages from EU commission

Former EU health commissioner John Dalli wants €1.9mn in "material damage" from the European Commission over allegations he was forced to resign in 2012 in a scandal involving the tobacco lobby and solicited bribes. Lawyers from both sides are debating the legal merits of the case at the EU court.
