Italian presidency: South Stream should go ahead

The Italian EU presidency is in favour of a controversial Russian pipeline project, South Stream, which would circumvent Ukraine and deliver gas to south-eastern Europe. "We think South Stream should go ahead, because it would increase the diversification of routes," Italy's EU state secretary Sandro Gozi said Thursday in Brussels.
