Ten countries hit by lower quotas after over-fishing

The EU Commission has cut the fishing quotas of ten countries - Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Spain, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Britain - that exceeded their quotas for 2013. In a statement Monday, the Commission said over-fishing covered 49 stocks. Deductions totaling 21.286 tonnes will apply for 2014.
