EU ends herring dispute with Faroe Islands

The European Union lifted on Monday a ban on fish from the Faroe Islands after the government agreed to cap herring catches for 2014 to 40,000 tonnes. The EU ban was introduced last year when the Faroese government gave its fishermen permission to catch 100,000 tons of herring in 2013.
