Bulgaria halts South Stream gas pipeline project

Bulgaria on Tuesday halted work on the Russia-backed South Stream pipeline project until it conforms with EU law, the BBC reports. The project would build over 900 km of pipeline to transport natural gas from Russia to Bulgaria, which is almost entirely reliant on Russia's Gazprom for its gas.
